Surgical First Assistant
In the operating room, everyone has a role. The role of the Surgical First Assistant is to act as the lead associate to the surgeon. This is an ideal career if you are interested in the surgical process, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and want to be exposed to all aspects of surgery but don’t want the pressure of being the surgeon.
The Surgical Technology First Assistant Certificate is a limited enrollment program that will provide you with the needed coursework and clinical experience to secure an entry-level position and prepare you to complete the Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) exam and/or continue to complete the Associates in Surgical Technology program.
What’s the Job Outlook for Surgical Assistants and Technologists?
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment outlook for all surgical assistants and technologists is projected to grow 6% from 2021-2031.
