Steps to Enroll

You are a student who has never been enrolled in WCCCD or is transferring from another college/university. 

If you are a transfer student, submit a transfer evaluation form and all previous academic credentials to the District Records Office at 801 W. Fort Street, Detroit, MI 48226.

You are a student previously enrolled in WCCCD but hasn’t attended in the last two years. 

If you are a returning student, you must request readmission at the campus level with a valid picture identification. Returning students should not complete a new admissions application.

If you have taken classes at another post-secondary institution, submit all previous records and a transcript evaluation form to the District Records Office at 801 W. Fort Street, Detroit, MI 48226.

We respect the contributions that all of our veterans have made to our country. As a token of our appreciation, we've made the enrollment process as simple as possible, and we work alongside our Veteran Affairs office to help make your academic pursuits as successful as possible.

• Once you have been notified of your VA education eligibility through the
  Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Have applied, declared an Academic program, and registered for classes.
• Visit the WCCCD Veteran Affairs Office to contact by phone or email the
  VA representative to certify your enrollment.

If you are a high school student who wants to earn college credit, please complete a “dual/concurrent enrollment” form. 

If you are under the age of 18, you must get the approval and signature of a parent/guardian and high school principal or counselor. Applications without the signature will be considered incomplete and won’t be processed. 

Your application must be submitted in person to the District Student Services Office and approved by an administrator to be admitted. 

Our advisors will help you select classes for the upcoming semester and consult with your high school principal or counselor if necessary.  It is expected that both parental and high school support be accessible throughout the entire duration of your time spent with WCCCD.

Information for parents of high school students who want to earn college credit.

Suppose you are interested in being a guest student (enrolled at another college or university) at WCCCD. In that case, your first step is to discuss this with an academic advisor at your home institution. It may be necessary to supply a copy of your college transcript to WCCCD to confirm the prerequisite courses you have completed at your home institution.

For every semester you plan to attend WCCCD as a college guest student, you will need to complete a Michigan Undergraduate Guest Application. The following steps will help you complete the applicatoin.

1. Complete Part I of the Michigan Undergraduate Guest Application. 
2. Take the printed and signed application to your institution’s Advising Office to have Part II completed by them.
3. Email or fax your completed guest application.

As a Wayne County Community College District resident and 60 years of age or older, you are eligible for a free tuition waiver based on seat availability in regularly scheduled academic classes. 

While tuition will be waived, you will be responsible for purchasing books and class supplies. Proof of age and residency will be required at the time of registration.

Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) works with many international students of different immigration statuses. Each status has unique requirements to be eligible as an International Student.

You are an international student if you fall under one of the following categories:

• Canadian Citizens – You are a Canadian citizen interested in studying at WCCCD
• International (F-1) Students –  You are currently outside the US and interested in attending WCCCD on an F-1 visa
• F-1 Transfer Students – You are currently attending another institution in the US on an F-1 visa and would like to transfer to WCCCD
• Other Visa Types – You currently have a US visa (other than F-1 visa) and want to change your status to F-1 to attend WCCCD

The Adult Education Program prepares students to complete/obtain a GED/HSE. It helps access post-secondary education, training, and support services to succeed in high-demand/high-wage occupations.

You must be 18 or older to enroll in WCCCD’s Adult Education program. The program provides instruction for students to improve their basic literacy skills in preparation for completing their GED. You must submit a WCCCD college admission application for enrollment. To begin the program, participants must complete the orientation, take the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) Exam, and create an Individual Learning Plan.
