Review Eligibility Requirements

Participants must be 18 years of age or older to qualify for enrollment in the Adult Education Program at WCCCD. The program provides instruction for students to improve their basic literacy skills in preparation for completing their GED.

Submit Application

Each Adult Education Program participant is required to complete the college admission application for enrollment. This allows the participants to become integrated in the WCCCD setting.

Get Student ID

All participants receive a Wayne County Community College District Student ID. The ID allows them to have access to the computer labs, learning resource centers, career planning and placement offices, campus parking and tutorial labs.

Attend Orientation

Participants must complete an orientation which takes about three (3) hours. Participants receive information on the programs’ policies and procedures. They also complete the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) Exam in preparation for appropriate class placement and an individual Learning Plan which provides directions for participants to complete the program.

Select Classes

Participants are assisted in selecting courses that best fit their individual Learning Plan. The program curriculum includes Math, Science, Reading, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Career and Personal Development.
