Course Syllabi

The course syllabi are important tools used by the Division of Educational Affairs to ensure students are informed and knowledgeable of the overall course delivery, logistics, instructor expectations, instructional objectives, expected student outcomes and competencies.

The District measures student academic performance for both career and academic programs.  Each career program course is aligned with the competencies or requirements that are measured to ensure that students have obtained the necessary skills for job placement and/or become licensed/certified professionals in their field.

Each academic program is measured according to instructional objectives, program objectives, and overall student outcomes upon degree completion.  The instructional objectives are included in the course syllabi to help students:

  1. Understand what they will learn
  2. Guide their course experiences and self assessment
  3. Define preset discipline standards
