Meet Marla J. Edwards-Wheeler

Trustee Marla J. Edwards-Wheeler was elected to the Wayne County Community College District’s Board of Trustees in 2016.  She is a Clinical Social Worker Specialist/Therapist in Inkster.  A lifelong resident of Inkster, she is Founder and Executive Director of Truth Recovery, Inc., a non-profit organization providing support services throughout the state of Michigan.  She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University and is currently enrolled as a Ph.D. program.  She is a member of the Phi Alpha National Honor Society (WSU). 

In addition to serving as Secretary of the Board of Trustees, she chairs the Educational Affairs and Student Services Standing Committee. 

She is a Wayne County Community College District alumni and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society; she is also a Madonna University alumni.  Her goal is to keep her constituents aware of what is happening at WCCCD.
