Committees, Councils, and Roundtables

The District utilizes a structure of councils, roundtables, committees, and taskforces to facilitate widespread communication and participation and attain feedback within a multi-campus District.

A council often directs the work of numerous committees or taskforces and meets regularly. Its charge is broad in scope. A committee can be long-term in nature and may meet on a regular basis. Composed of a variety of individuals, the committee’s scope of work is narrower than that of a council, and its recommendations are made to the executive administration or a council.

Taskforces are created to address a specific District-wide issue. They are characterized by being focused on a single issue, usually short-term in nature, and meeting until their charge has been completed. Roundtables meet to discuss topics ad hoc, typically grouped by a program and those working closely on it.
