Larry K. Lewis Education Center (LEC)

The latest addition to the Northwest Campus is the Larry K. Lewis Education Center. The new 90,000 sq. ft. Academic Building houses 31 classrooms, computer labs, a 133 seat lecture hall, and a Media Center. The new building is slated to be the first LEED Platinum building in Michigan when certified. It uses geothermal heating/cooling, a “Gray” water system, solar panels for hot water and electricity and has a “Green” roof. The building houses the Police Authority Administration on the first floor, Campus Administrative offices, including Office of the President, on the second floor and Faculty offices on the third floor.

An additional 10 acres of site improvements have been made that includes a 380 car parking lot.
