Automotive Service Technology
The Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) Automotive Service Technology faculty is here to help you solve complex problems through critical analysis and effectively communicate difficult technical information to others.
Our program is designed to develop your skills and competencies for careers in automotive related technical positions or become certified as automotive technicians and mechanics. You will know how to diagnose, repair and service modern automobiles. The program will also prepare you for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and State of Michigan certifications for any of the eight (8) automotive areas of “Master” certification.
An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in automotive service technology from WCCCD prepares you for work across various roles such as:
- Automotive Technician
- Service Manager
- Parts Manager
- Product Test Technician
- Entrepreneur
What’s the Job Outlook for Automotive Technology Technicians & Mechanics?
