Computer Information Systems: Computer Aided Design
Computer-Aided Design is all about connecting your creative side to developing anything from floor plans to automobiles. Creating 3D digital designs using an array of software tools CAD Designers you are a critical part of any design team. The ability to take ideas or concepts provided and translate them into drawings that can be used for prototypes or full-scale production is the role of a CAD designer.
The CAD Program offers a 3-semester certificate program that will provide you with the key courses in drafting, CAD and math required to advance your current career or investigate a new career. The certificate is a great place to start. The AAS provides additional CAD and drafting courses preparing you for an exciting and creative career in industries as diverse as interior design, architecture, and automotive, to name a few.
What’s the Job Outlook for Positions in Drafting?
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the outlook for positions in Industrial Design is projected to increase by 3% from 2021-2031.

Where is WCCCD’s Computer Aided Design Program Offered?
The Computer-Aided Design – Associates of Applied Science (AAS) and Certificate programs are offered at our Eastern Campus. As a WCCCD student, you can take courses, use facilities, and get involved at any of our six locations.
