Criminal justice public/private security individuals are responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the organization’s corporate security vision, strategy, and programs. Criminal Justice Public/Private Security certified individuals work in such areas as private, corporate, business, and residential property settings, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), casinos, automotive companies, hospitals, and shopping malls.

What Will I Learn as a Criminal Justice Public/Private Security Student?

The Criminal Justice Public/Private Security Certificate Program provides students with the knowledge and hands-on experience in trend analysis, risk analysis, security surveys, and the application of crime prevention through environmental design. WCCCD criminal justice public/private security students learn how to address different security-related events, conduct site surveys, and utilize proactive security measures. Courses cover various topics such as criminal investigation, asset protection, and security.

The Criminal Justice Public/Private Security Program is offered at our Curtis L. Ivery Downtown Campus. The campus also offers classes for other criminal justice-related certificates and degrees.
